One-time assistance to public sector employees and pensioners will be provided regardless of their income level - A. Tozik

September 2, Minsk / Yekaterina Markovich - BELTA /. In Belarus, a one-time assistance of Br500 thousand will be provided to public sector employees and pensioners, regardless of their income level. This was announced in an interview with a BELTA correspondent by Anatoly Tozik, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus. "It is difficult to determine the upper income limit, so it was decided to provide support to all public sector employees and pensioners," the Deputy Prime Minister noted. "First, there will be a payment of Br500 thousand. In the future, social support will be strengthened by increasing pension amounts (the date is set by decree - from November 1 of the current year) and raising the first-category tariff rate (possibly also from November 1, 2011). Until then, the first-category tariff rate will be indexed in accordance with inflation." *** The full text of the interview will be released on the news feed and posted on the BELTA website. -0-
