A sightseeing trolleybus tour promises to become a tourist hit in Vitebsk

March 26, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Vitebsk Tram and Trolleybus Department will offer Vitebsk residents and city guests an opportunity to take a tour of Vitebsk by tram and trolleybus. The pilot trip will take place this coming Saturday, Vasily Pavlyuchkov, head of the unitary communal transport enterprise "Vitebsk Tram and Trolleybus Department" (VTTU), told a BELTA correspondent. This year, VTTU intends to develop new types of services, and, according to the management of the department, the most in-demand service may be an excursion trip on eco-friendly electric transport. Scientists from the regional museum of local lore, VTTU employees, and Vitebsk residents have been invited to develop the route. It is the opinion of the citizens that will be decisive in drawing up the route and schedule for the excursion transport during the summer season. In the meantime, the first excursion trolleybus will introduce tourists to the unknown history of familiar streets. New trams and trolleybuses have been allocated for the tours. According to Vasily Pavlyuchkov, excursions on electric transport will not cause any inconvenience to regular passengers and will not affect the intensity and number of routes on the lines. -0-
