An unusual event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany is planned by the tourist information center "Ilva" and the Department of Education, Sports, and Tourism of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee. From April 24 to 26, Vitebsk schoolchildren are invited to participate in a vibrant and memorable excursion tour to Brest on the "Memory Train".

The organization of the trip was discussed at a recent seminar-presentation of tourist and excursion routes with a heroic-patriotic focus, which have been prepared

"Ilvoy" on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory for educators and schoolchildren. According to director Larisa Petrovskaya, the travel agency has specifically developed inexpensive but interesting patriotic tours for students to Minsk, Khatyn, Mogilev, Orsha, and Smolensk. A special project is "The Memory Train", which involves children traveling from Vitebsk to Brest. Schoolchildren will enjoy a panoramic bus tour of the city, a visit to the memorial complex "Brest Fortress-Hero" and the recently opened museum there "Museum of War – Territory of Peace", and a memorial requiem. The children will also see the Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the fairytale residence of Ded Moroz.

At the tourist and information center

"Ilva", where the seminar was held, more than 30 heads and educators of educational institutions of Vitebsk, as well as the city center for additional education and the Palace of Creativity of Children and Youth, gathered. The "Batleyka" theater, operating within the framework of the cultural and historical project "Skarbnitsa", performed for them.

Head

"Ilvy" expressed hope that meetings with the administration of educational institutions will become regular, and the tourist-information center will be a platform for free exchange of views, presentations of new author projects and excursion routes. All participants of the meeting were presented with informational materials and multimedia discs on the history of Vitebsk.
