Exports of enterprises in the meat and dairy industry of the Vitebsk region increased by 21.8% in January-April

The export of meat and dairy industry enterprises of the Vitebsk region in January-April increased by 21.8% to $83.3 million, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Concern "Meat and Dairy Products". Product supplies were carried out to 13 countries: Armenia, Ukraine, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Poland, etc. The share of supplies to Russia in the total sales volume was over 88%. The export volume to far abroad countries more than doubled compared to January-April 2010. Among the region's milk processing enterprises, the best performance in the reporting period was shown by Verkhnedvinsk butter and cheese factory (export growth rate - 138.2%), Lepel condensed milk plant (almost doubled, respectively), Polotsk dairy plant (122.8%), Postavy dairy plant (178.5%). Among the meat industry enterprises, Orsha meat canning plant increased its export supplies more than twofold, Miory meat processing plant by 45.9%, and Vitebsk meat processing plant by 36.1%. To increase product sales in the CIS countries, the concern's enterprises conduct constant monitoring of current prices in the domestic markets of importing countries, demand for dairy products, and have established work with potential partners. In addition, significant attention is paid to the participation of factories in exhibition and fair events. In April alone, enterprises of the region presented their products at 18 exhibitions and fairs in the regions of Russia. In January-April, the concern's meat and dairy enterprises produced products worth Br654.4 billion, or 137.9% of the corresponding level of last year. The sales profitability for this period was 3.2%, including 2.7% for the dairy industry and 4% for the meat industry. The energy saving indicator is minus 11%. Investment in fixed assets reached Br45.4 billion, or 170.5% compared to January-April of last year. Funds were directed to the purchase of a curd grain line and an automatic machine for packaging dairy products in "Doy-Pack" bags at OJSC "Moloko" (Vitebsk). Verkhnedvinsk butter and cheese factory purchased a pasteurization unit with a capacity of 15 thousand liters/hour, a bactofuge, and other equipment for butter production. Glubokoye condensed milk plant is reconstructing its refrigeration system. Refrigeration chambers are being installed in the ice cream workshop at Orsha dairy plant. Vitebsk meat processing plant acquired a technological line for animal processing. Miory meat processing plant, OJSC "Orshasyrzavod", and Lepel condensed milk plant also purchased new production equipment.
