The export of tourist services in the Vitebsk region has almost doubled
In addition to business, cultural and educational, medical and health tourism, military-historical, gastronomic, inclusive, educational, religious, sports and agro-ecotourism are actively developing in the northern region. Industrial, hunting, transit and ecological types of tourism remain a priority for certain territories. More than 140 companies prepare excursions and tours in the Vitebsk region for travelers, and over 200 certified guides and 7 guide-interpreters conduct them. Routes are developed taking into account the interests and requests of tourists.
Since the beginning of the year, the export of tourism services in the Vitebsk region has amounted to more than $9.1 million, or 196.9% compared to the same period in 2021. It is expected that by the end of nine months, the figure will be at least $12.3 million. "Enterprises and organizations of the region participated in more than 20 international tourism exhibitions and more than 40 educational events in January-September," explained specialists. "According to the subprogram for the development of tourism industry facilities, work was carried out on five facilities in the region in 2022, two of which have already been commissioned. The rest are planned to be put into operation by the end of the year. For 9 months, more than Br5.1 million of own funds of economic entities have been attracted."
The implementation of the measures of the state program "Belarus Hospitality" in the northern region is carried out quite effectively, the department added.
