An electronic bank of advanced forms and methods of working with gifted children is being created in the Vitebsk region
November 16, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. An electronic database "Pedagogical Initiatives in Working with Gifted Children" is planned to be created in the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education informed a BELTA correspondent.
It will be a kind of methodological repository of ideas and advanced developments of teachers in the region for identifying and developing gifted children. The multi-level database is planned to include methodological developments, starting from preschool education and ending with forms and methods of working with high school students. Every teacher interested in developing individual educational routes for gifted students will be able to get operational access to the information.
The search for various ways to construct an educational space that creates conditions for the manifestation and development of children's giftedness is one of the main activities of the pedagogical teams and education organizers in the region. The creation of an electronic database will help to intensify the promotion of best practices in developing students' creative abilities and maintain continuity in working with gifted children by involving young teachers in such activities, specialists noted.
In addition, the program of basic professional development courses for teachers in the region will be expanded to include elective classes and training sessions on methods and techniques for fostering creativity in students. The Regional Institute for the Development of Education will continue to cooperate with the Hi-Tech Park Administration on the use of IT technologies in working with gifted children.
To develop general and special giftedness in children in the region, a system has been created, including a network of preschool and specialized general secondary education institutions, elective classes covering about 92.2% of students, as well as extracurricular education institutions where talents and abilities of more than 37,000 children and adolescents are developed. In addition, there are 270 student scientific societies in the region, and 55 exemplary amateur creative groups operate in educational institutions. -0-
