Electricity supply to settlements in the Vitebsk region affected by the thunderstorm has been restored

Almost 400 settlements in the Vitebsk region were left without electricity on July 28 as a result of a thunderstorm front passing over several districts of the Vitebsk region. As of the morning of July 29, power supply has been fully restored, the propaganda and training center at the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed a BELTA correspondent. The natural disaster affected 10 districts of the region. In addition to settlements, due to the thunderstorm and gusty winds (up to 29 meters per second), more than 70 agricultural facilities (including 50 farms), as well as 610 transformer substations, were de-energized. In addition, late in the evening in Orsha, a residential building caught fire due to a direct lightning strike, which damaged the roof of the building over its entire area. For the same reason, a fire occurred in the village of Voznovo, Verkhnedvinsk district: a log bathhouse belonging to a local resident burned down completely. -0-
