Elena Chichkan became the European Weightlifting Champion
A member of the national team of the Republic of Belarus in weightlifting, 19-year-old Elena Chichkan, a trainee of the senior coach of the national team of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Shershukov, won three gold medals at the European Championship in the weight category up to 58 kg, held in Tirana (Albania): in the "snatch" exercise (95 kg) and "clean and jerk" 118 kg, as well as in the total of two exercises (213 kg).
In this regard, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets sent a congratulatory telegram to the Honored Coach of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Shershukov and a member of the national team of the Republic of Belarus in weightlifting Elena Chichkan, which states, in particular:
