November 20, Minsk / Yulia Vanina - BELTA /. Elena Minchukova from Novolukoml became the winner of the republican competition "Social Educator of the Year", reports a BELTA correspondent. The award was presented to her today at the National Children's Educational and Health Center "Zubronok" at the final stage of the competition for pedagogical workers of Belarus with high achievements in educational work "Social Educator of the Year" by the Deputy Minister of Education Boris Ivanov. The main goal of the competition is to develop the creativity of educators in social educational institutions, support talented and creative specialists, and disseminate the best social pedagogical experience and new methods in the practice of personality socialization. When awarding the best social educators of Belarus, Boris Ivanov noted that "this specialty is still quite new, it is no more than ten years old, but social educators have already proven their necessity." The finalists of the competition are highly motivated for this work and possess high professional competence. "These are practicing educators who are actively engaged in methodological and scientific research, participate in experimental and innovative programs of the Ministry of Education," the Deputy Minister emphasized. The winner of the competition, Elena Minchukova, works at secondary school No. 2 in Novolukoml, Chashniksky district. "The significance of the social educator's work has become obvious in recent years not only to the heads of educational institutions, but also to parents. They have come to believe that they can entrust their children to professionals whose main duty is rehabilitation and strengthening of families," she noted. 21 of the best social educators in Belarus demonstrated their skills at the final stage in "Zubronok". The program consisted of competitive events - "Testing", "Self-presentation", "Project defense", "Resolution of a situation containing a socio-pedagogical problem". The finalists also held an open educational event with an unfamiliar audience. -0-
