The draft design for the second phase of the Summer Amphitheatre reconstruction was presented for the first time in Vitebsk

July 15, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The draft design of the second stage of the Summer Amphitheater reconstruction was presented for the first time today in Vitebsk at the international investment forum, the chairman of the city executive committee Viktor Nikolaikin told a BELTA correspondent. The project provides for the development of the territory in the area of the main stage of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival and the construction of a number of socio-cultural facilities there. Thus, in the center, it is proposed to build an open-air ice arena under a dome, made by analogy with the roof of the Summer Amphitheater, instead of the existing tennis courts. It is planned that the venue will operate year-round due to the use of artificial ice cover; it is proposed to organize a roller ski track around the ice arena. The total area of the sports facilities will be about 8 thousand square meters. In addition, the project provides for the construction of a business center and a shopping and entertainment center with a restaurant and cafe, as well as a bowling alley. The estimated cost of the project, including the organization of an underground pedestrian crossing, is about $18.5 million. This version of the project is not final yet, the city executive committee is ready to consider proposals from potential investors who show interest in participating in the project implementation and are ready to significantly transform the territory around the Summer Amphitheater, Viktor Nikolaikin added. The draft design was presented by the open joint-stock company "Belarusian People's Insurance Pension Fund", which in 2008 acquired the right to design and build the second stage of the Summer Amphitheater reconstruction in Vitebsk at an auction for Br1.6 billion. -0-
