There is a bread record! The Orsha district was the first in the Vitebsk region to thresh over 100,000 tons of grain
Without clear technology and coordinated actions during sowing, cultivation, and harvesting, no results can be achieved. This is well known to the farmers of advanced farms in the Orsha district, which is rightfully called the breadbasket of the Vitebsk region.
— This year's yield is pleasing, — notes Andrey Konstantinov, head of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Orsha District Executive Committee. — We reliably hold first place in the region — 42.7 centners per hectare. This is significantly higher than last year's figure. That is why we reached the hundred-thousandth threshed grain already with 70 percent of the harvested areas.
Among agricultural enterprises, the grain growers of "Larinovka" are ahead of the rest. They have 72 centners per hectare. "Yubileiny" and "Teplichny" have 50 centners each.
— First of all, we try to fulfill the state order, — notes Andrey Vitalievich. — According to the plan, we must supply 12,500 tons of grain. The task has already been completed by almost 60 percent. We supply to the Orsha and Vitebsk grain processing plants, Vitebsk and Minsk bread factories.
Winter crops yielded the highest harvest during the current harvest. In some wheat fields in "Larinovka," they harvested up to 90 centners per hectare, and in "Yubileiny" — up to 70.
Orsha farmers emphasize: there are no secrets here, except for the skill of the people and strict adherence to cultivation technology. Seeds used are mainly of Belarusian selection, and the main striking force is domestic "Polesie" grain harvesting combines. Recently, they received 20 new units, and they, supplementing the total fleet of 120 combines, immediately got to work.
The staff of SPC "Larinovka" also constantly updates its technical fleet. For the last few years, the yield here has not been below 70 centners per hectare, says director Alexander Kukhtenkov:
— We completed the harvest within optimal terms and finished four days ago. We threshed about 7700 tons of grain. We cope with all the work ourselves. If the SPC worked well, everyone receives dividends. Last year, the average salary in the cooperative (we have 70 people) was 1800 rubles.
Other farmers of the Orsha district are also not letting down.ayona. The Chairperson of the Trade Union Committee of Agricultural Workers Olga Nikitenkova cites figures:
— The district has one combine crew of three-thousand-tonners — this is son and father Alexander and Andrey Komarovs. Six combine operators have surpassed the 2000-ton mark, 35 have already threshed 1000 tons each. Among the leaders are 12 youth crews. Drivers of vehicles involved in grain hauling are also working well. Eight people have transported 2000 tons of grain each, and more than 30 have transported 1000 tons each.
The three-thousand-ton combine operators from Zadneprovsk are son and father Alexander and Andrey Komarovs.
Currently, in parallel with the harvest, the sowing of winter rapeseed has begun in the district. In the first days of the new sowing campaign, about 2500 hectares have been sown. Winter cereals will follow.
The Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Igor Isachenko notes:
— The agro-industrial complex plays a significant role in the socio-economic development program of the district, approved by the President of Belarus. And today we see that the measures taken are already yielding good results. Of course, it is impossible to achieve global changes in the agro-industrial complex system in one or two years. But one thing is clear: new farms and modern equipment would be ineffective if it were not for the people themselves. Therefore, the initial results of this symbiosis — farmers plus state support — are pleasing: farmers are achieving good harvests, significant milk yields, and weight gains.
