The 'Flame of Peace' torch relay arrived in Vitebsk
Several hundred employees of the enterprise gathered to meet the torchbearers – Lev Karazhev, head of the service provision group of UP "VELCOM", and Vadim Starikovich, manager of IOOO "Lukoil Belarus". Vladimir Sazon, First Deputy General Director of "Vitba", spoke from the stage. He emphasized the symbolic significance of the moment:
– The enterprise has been greatly honored to become a participant in the "Flame of Peace" torch relay. It is very pleasant that we are welcoming it in the year of the factory's thirtieth anniversary.
In turn, the torchbearers wished all Vitebsk residents that sport would become an integral part of their lives. They also expressed hope for the successful performance of Belarusian athletes at the II European Games.
After that, the relay torches were lit from a special lamp. Lev Karazhev and Vadim Starikovich ran with them through the enterprise's territory.
– What I remember most about this event, perhaps, is the excitement, – said Olga Rybkina, an engineer for production preparation. – We prepared a lot for the relay's arrival. The festive atmosphere was felt long before today. We are glad to have become a part of such a significant sporting event as the II European Games.
After the "Vitba" confectionery factory, the participants of the "Flame of Peace" torch relay proceeded to SOOO "Marko".
