Estonians propose to launch hotel barges on Vitebsk rivers
September 24, Minsk /Andrei Asfura - BELTA/. Estonian investors have come up with a project that involves converting barges into holiday homes. This was announced today to journalists by Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism Cheslav Shulga, a BELTA correspondent reports.
Estonian businessmen plan to launch tourist barges on the rivers in the Vitebsk region. However, for now, this is only a project, and a final decision has not yet been made, the deputy minister noted.
In general, in the near future, attention will be paid to the arrangement of water routes in Belarus. Thus, it is expected that next year a hotel ship will start operating from Turov to Mozyr. In addition, tourist ships may appear in Mogilev, Gomel and Bobruisk. It is also planned to commission a new ship on the Augustów Canal, as the current vessel was not originally designed for carrying tourists.
All ships are planned to be built at the Pinsk Shipyard. "However, if someone buys them abroad, we are not against it," noted Cheslav Shulga. -0-
