An ethnographic, historical, and health resort complex is being built by an investor in the Glubokoye district

November 10, Glubokoye district / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. An investor intends to invest over Br35 billion in the construction of the "Plissa" health and tourist complex in the Glubokoye district. This was announced today during a working meeting with the participation of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee services by the acting general director of the investor company, the production and construction closed joint-stock company "Trest Prom Stroy" (Minsk), Valery Myats. On the shore of Lake Plissa, on the territory of a former military unit with a total area of 20.5 hectares, it is planned to place facilities for health improvement and recreation, which can accommodate up to 600 people at a time. The project provides for the creation of several functional zones, including a boarding house with a hotel complex and campsites for weekend recreation. For the entertainment of vacationers, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a restaurant, saunas, and an amphitheater will be built. However, according to Valery Myats, ethnographic complexes will arouse the greatest interest among tourists, the appearance of which is dictated by the national characteristics of the area: for centuries, Belarusians, Poles, Tatars, Jews, and Lithuanians lived side by side here – five settlements of these peoples will appear on the shores of the lake. In houses with an ethnographic flavor, guests will be introduced to national traditions, rituals, and cuisine. According to Valery Myats, there are no analogues to such a complex in Belarus. The complex will receive its first vacationers in 2012. The entire "Plissa" health and tourist complex will be commissioned in 2014. In the first stage, new jobs will be created for 50 local residents. The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, who chaired the meeting, emphasized that this project is one of the first in the implementation of the regional program "500", according to which about 100 lakes will be equipped for recreation and tourist reception in the region over the next five years, and 100 roadside service facilities, hunting lodges, agro-ecotourism estates, and beaches will be built. "The regional executive committee is interested in the implementation of such projects, as they will contribute to the development of the economic potential of the regions. Within five years, the "500" program will help attract about Br15 trillion in investments, which will create more than 1,000 new jobs and give an impetus to the development of the agro-industrial sector and processing industries," the governor emphasized. In his opinion, in some districts of the region, tourism services may account for up to half of the local budgets. PS CJSC "Trest Prom Stroy" is engaged in the construction of industrial and residential facilities. One of the company's most famous facilities is the low-rise residential complex "Raduzhny" in Minsk. -0-
