Several more Belarusian enterprises will soon officially confirm the European quality of their products

November 20, Verkhnedvinsk district / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. In the near future, several more Belarusian enterprises will receive certification of their products for compliance with European quality and safety standards. This was announced today to journalists by the Minister of Agriculture of Belarus, Semen Shapiro, who took part in the ceremony of awarding the European quality and safety certificates of compliance to OJSC "Verkhnedvinsk Dairy and Cheese Plant", reports BELTA correspondent. "The quality of our enterprises' products is very high, which is confirmed by consumers in different countries," the minister emphasized. Products of Belarusian meat and dairy industry producers are sold in 45 countries. Obtaining the certificate by the Verkhnedvinsk plant is the beginning of a serious stage for Belarusian processors to confirm the quality of their products to the norms and requirements of European services, said Semen Shapiro. European experts are already working at OJSC "Savushkin Product", OJSC "Berezovsky Cheese-Making Plant". In the near future, such work will begin at OJSC "Babushkina Krynka". Semen Shapiro also explained that in order to start working in the EU markets, Belarusian processors will have to go through the second stage - obtaining veterinary permission. This work has also begun. Representatives of the EU veterinary services have already started working at enterprises confirming the quality and safety of their products to European standards. According to the minister, in January 2010, veterinary experts will begin work on confirming the veterinary well-being of the country. Obtaining this certificate will allow the sale of Belarusian food products to European markets. -0-
