A pharmaceutical cluster has been established in the Vitebsk region
The pharmaceutical cluster "Union of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Scientific-Educational Organizations "Medicine and Pharmaceuticals - Innovative Projects" has been established in the Vitebsk region, as reported by the Chairman of the Union's Supervisory Board, Alexey Sychev.
LLC "Rubikon", SOOO "Nativita", SOOO "Aconitpharma", OJSC "Belvitunipharm", SOOO "MedelcomBel", Vitebsk State Medical University, and service organizations LLC "VitVar", LLC "Pharmmarketing Group", KUP "Vitebsk Regional Marketing Center", as well as the non-profit partnership "Union of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Clusters of Russia" have confirmed their participation in the non-profit partnership for the development of cluster interaction. At the constituent assembly on August 6, held at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the union's charter was approved, governing bodies and members of the scientific and technical council were elected.
The main goal of establishing the pharmaceutical cluster is to develop the scientific, technological, and production potential of the Vitebsk region in the pharmaceutical sector, and to form a modern infrastructure for the development of import-substituting and innovative medicinal products. "By utilizing modern forms of cooperation, including with foreign partners, we aim to combine the capabilities of science and production to master existing high technologies in this field, and subsequently learn to transform scientific ideas into market products, transitioning from a consumer of technologies to their producer," noted Alexey Sychev.
Among the priority projects of the pharmaceutical cluster planned for implementation, the creation of preclinical, bioequivalence, and clinical research centers, as well as a modern research laboratory for quality control of immunobiological drugs, is being developed at the Vitebsk State Medical University. This will enable research into the development and creation of innovative drugs.
One of the main tasks of the union should be the creation of a project center for the preparation of scientifically based and economically effective projects in the field of pharmaceuticals and medicine, and the resolution of issues related to their financing, including through various funds and state programs aimed at supporting innovation. In addition, the non-profit partnership will focus on building a system for training highly qualified personnel for the pharmaceutical industry, as well as organizing work aimed at acquiring new knowledge and its practical application in the creation of new products or technologies. In this regard, it is planned to adopt the experience of the St. Petersburg pharmaceutical cluster.
