The festival of intercultural communications for schoolchildren will be held for the first time in the Vitebsk region

May 25, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. A festival of intercultural communications is planned to be held for the first time in the Vitebsk region in the new academic year, and in the future, it will become a traditional event for secondary school students who actively study foreign languages. This was announced today by Nina Klokova, a methodologist at the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education, at the regional seminar "Technologies for working with new educational and methodological complexes in French," a BELTA correspondent reports. It is assumed that the festival will last for two days. It will include the completion of several creative works in a foreign language that the students study at school. Thus, potential participants will be offered to create and present a mass communication medium (print publication, electronic newspaper), with creativity in approaching the task and informational richness being among the main evaluation criteria. Another stage of the festival is planned to be a competition of guides who will have to talk in a foreign language about unusual tourist routes, attractions of Belarus and their native Vitebsk region. Among the possible competitions, it is planned to hold creative contests for declamators, school theater groups, as well as a kind of "star factory" where students' singing and dancing talents will be showcased. Today, a high command of foreign languages is necessary for every person to enter the open information space and ensure socialization in the modern multicultural environment. Holding such an event will contribute to improving the organization of the educational process in foreign languages, believes Nina Klokova. The Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education will be one of the organizers of the seminar. The regional seminar in Vitebsk discusses new approaches to organizing the educational process in French based on national educational and methodological complexes. During the event, a master class will be held by Dina Vadyushina, a professor at the Department of French Grammar of Minsk State Linguistic University. The experience of the French language department of Gymnasium No. 9 in Vitebsk will also be presented, including a performance by the school theater, which won the Grand Prix at the festival of Francophone theaters in Minsk. -0-
