Festival Vitebsk ate all the ice cream from the Lepel Dairy and Canned Goods Plant

July 16, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Festival Vitebsk ate all the ice cream from the Lepel Dairy and Canned Goods Plant, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent. In total, during the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival, which concludes today, about 17 tons of the delicacy under the "Lepelka" trademark were sold to townspeople, guests, and participants of the forum – an absolute record among all major producers and suppliers of this product in the Vitebsk region. To meet the ice cream demand of Vitebsk alone, the plant had to temporarily suspend supplies to other regions and the capital. The enterprise, currently operating at 100% capacity, can produce 90-100 tons of the delicacy per month, while the demand for Lepel ice cream, according to incoming applications, is about 250 tons per month. The plant attributes the popularity of its products primarily to the new ice cream production line launched in 2008, for which a separate workshop was built. Given the market demand, the expansion of this production will continue. Despite competition from producers from other regions of the country and Russia, ice cream from Orsha Dairy Plant OJSC, Polotsk Dairy Plant, and Vitebsk Cold Storage Plant also proved to be in demand in Vitebsk these days. In January-June, the Lepel Dairy and Canned Goods Plant produced products worth Br75.4 billion. The production of new types of products increased 2.2 times during this period. The energy saving indicator, with a target of minus 8.5%, was minus 16.2%. The enterprise was founded in 1951. It was reformed into an Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) in 1998. The state's share in the charter capital is 97.2%. The plant includes the "Zaozerie" agricultural production branch, Tolochin Butter and Cheese Plant, Dokshitsy and Beshenkovichi Dairy Plants. Lepel Dairy and Canned Goods Plant OJSC specializes in the production of whole milk products, skimmed milk powder, cheeses, and ice cream. The product range includes over 100 items. The total number of employees, including branches, is over 1,000 people. -0-
