The "Cranes and Cranberries" festival will begin with a cranberry harvesting competition

The program is packed with various events and, by tradition, will begin with cranberry harvesting competitions. About ten teams have already expressed their desire to compete in this. The one that brings the most berries from the swamp will receive a surprise.

On the festival day, a concert of the best artistic groups of Miory region will take place on the peninsula. The results of landscaping efforts will be summed up, the best work collectives, homestead owners, and elders will be honored. The homesteads will surprise visitors with a rich harvest from their native land, artistic taste, and design approaches to territory decoration, as well as delicious food. And for those who wish to learn how to cook rare, and sometimes almost forgotten dishes, a master class will be conducted by the club of Belarusian national cuisine "Tsvetsinskiye Prismaki".

The mandatory condition is the use of cranberries. It is with this berry that the meat processing plant and the bakery, the public catering enterprise of the consumer cooperative, and the homestead hostesses will offer their products to the festival participants.

The video presentation "Breath of Yelnya" will tell about the holiday and the beauty of the native land. For those who wish to observe cranes and take pictures, there will be a bus that will take them to observation platforms. Professional ornithologists will conduct excursions there.

The English name for cranberry (cranberry) translates to "crane berry". Ripe cranberries bounce when they fall on a hard surface. The grey crane is one of the largest birds.
