April 27, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. A regional branch of the Belarusian-Indian training center in the field of information and communication technologies will be established by the 2010/2011 academic year at the Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Elena Zalesskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics of the university.
The project is being implemented by the High-Tech Park in cooperation with the Indian Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC). The branch is planned to be opened on the basis of the Faculty of Mathematics to improve the quality of training for future specialists in IT technologies and to enhance the qualifications of university teachers. A specially equipped classroom with 10 workstations will provide an opportunity to maximize the potential of information technologies in the educational process, participate in video and internet conferences held by the High-Tech Park, as well as receive up-to-date information on the latest trends and developments in IT technologies, and adopt best practices in this field.
A special course for students of the Faculty of Mathematics will be taught by Natalia Savelyeva, a lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Information Technologies of VSU, who is currently undergoing an internship in India. Teaching at the branch is planned to be conducted in English, which is also very relevant for training qualified and competitive specialists.
