The XXIII International Social and Creative Program "Chernobyl Way - The Road of Life" of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union will conclude with a gala concert in Minsk on April 26. 220 young talents from different parts of the country will take part in it. The project will finish in the capital for the first time: previously, all final concerts of the event were held at creative venues in the regional centers of Belarus, the ideologiсal and analytical work department of the BRSM Central Committee told a BelTA correspondent.
This year, the BRSM program, which will cover 24 districts of Mogilev, Gomel, Brest, Minsk, and Grodno regions, is being implemented under the motto "The Road of Life Through the Native Land". More than 5,000 residents of the districts affected by the Chernobyl NPP accident will take part in the project. More than 500 talented children and teenagers will showcase their skills along with the artists.
Over the history of the event (this year it will be 23 years old), thousands of concerts by famous artists and creative groups of the republic have been held in 29 districts affected by the Chernobyl disaster, as well as in sister cities of Russia and Ukraine. The main goal of the program implementation is to provide professional assistance to talented children and teenagers, which the participants of the event provide annually on the ground, as well as to constantly help their protégés in their creative growth and development. Thanks to this program, Polina Smolova, Egor Volchek, Egor Farashchan, Alexander Zavgorodniy, Andrey Shumak, Stella, and others have emerged onto the country's big stage.
The "Chernobyl Way - The Road of Life" program includes republican events "Into the Future - With Hope", "Children Think About Children", "Christmas Tree" for young talents. Thanks to this event, a whole system of cultural services for the population of remote regions of Belarus contaminated with radionuclides has been created, and most importantly, the identification and support of gifted children and teenagers living here.
The organizers of the event, along with the BRSM, are the Department for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Chernobyl NPP Disaster under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, the Ministries of Culture and Education, and the Belarusian Children's Fund.
