Funding for engineering and transport infrastructure for new buildings in the Vitebsk region has tripled

Budgetary financing of engineering and transport infrastructure for new buildings in the Vitebsk region has tripled this year compared to 2010, Vladimir Belous, Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. Br380 billion has been allocated from the republican budget for the provision of utilities, roads, and the construction of power transmission lines. These funds will be used, among other things, to provide engineering infrastructure in areas of individual housing construction. This year, it is planned to build 830 thousand square meters of housing in the region. 4.7 thousand land plots have been allocated for individual housing construction throughout the region, including 647 in Vitebsk. Currently, 2.3 thousand individual residential buildings are under construction. Vladimir Belous noted that in 2010, out of 618 thousand square meters of housing, 139 thousand square meters were individual houses (in 2009, this ratio was 589 thousand square meters and 157 thousand square meters). To more actively involve residents of the region in need of housing improvement in individual construction, the committee intends to conduct awareness campaigns about the advantages of such construction, the possibilities of preferential lending, and obtaining land plots. -0-
