Funding for social programs in Belarus will not be reduced

March 31, Minsk /BelTA/. The financing of social programs in Belarus will not be reduced, as reported today to journalists by the Minister of Economy of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov, BelTA correspondent reports. The head of the Ministry of Economy noted that the head of state has set the task of reviewing state programs, taking into account the reduction of their financing by 50%. "The government and the Ministry of Economy are not talking about reducing social programs, but about reducing lending and financing of programs in the real sector of the economy," the minister clarified. According to him, purely social programs, of which there are about 50 in Belarus, are not a significant financial burden on the budget; social programs account for only 14% of the total program financing. -0-
