The Vitebsk region financial police stopped the export of 20 tons of flour to Russia without a phytosanitary certificate
October 4, Minsk /BELTA/. The financial police of the Vitebsk region have stopped the export of 20 tons of flour to Russia without a phytosanitary certificate. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Committee of State Control of Belarus.
The MAN truck, which was heading to Russia, carried 400 bags of premium wheat flour of Belarusian production, with a total weight of 20 tons. During the inspection of the accompanying documents, financial police officers established that the carrier lacked the phytosanitary certificate required for the transportation of the goods. The cargo, with a preliminary value of Br50 million, has been detained. An administrative process has been initiated in this regard under Part 4 of Article 12.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Belarus. This violation was detected during joint measures to protect the consumer market by employees of the Novopolotsk inter-district department of the Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee for the Vitebsk region and employees of the Vitebsk customs.
As noted by the Committee of State Control, this is not the first case of detention of goods without a mandatory phytosanitary certificate in the last month. Earlier, financial police officers detained three trucks with flour worth Br93 million, and in the Minsk region, a truck carrying fresh tomatoes worth Br100 million. In both cases, the carriers lacked a phytosanitary certificate, and therefore the transported goods were seized. Investigative measures are being carried out. -0-
