The "Golden Heritage of Vitebsk" Foundation will hold a series of conferences abroad on intercultural dialogue

July 7, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The International Foundation "Golden Heritage of Vitebsk" is initiating a series of conferences on intercultural dialogue in a number of foreign countries, Vladimir Karyagin, one of the founders of the public organization and chairman of the presidium of the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship, told a BELTA correspondent. In Vitebsk, he is taking part in the XI Republican Exhibition-Fair "Small Business in Festival Vitebsk".

The public organization, registered in 2010, is engaged in integrating various projects for the restoration of the historical part of Vitebsk associated with the name of Marc Chagall, and attracting financial resources for their implementation. Holding events on intercultural dialogue will help the foundation promote the investment project among potential investors and, in the future, attract resources from various charitable organizations and business structures to finance the construction, reconstruction, and development of the infrastructure of the historical part of Vitebsk, Vladimir Karyagin is confident.

About Br1 billion is needed to restore the sections of the ancient city associated with the name of Marc Chagall, which implies the construction of exhibition centers and venues for exhibiting works of art, and the restoration of religious sites. "All this should work for the brand of Vitebsk as an artistic, musical, and cultural center not only of Belarus," noted Vladimir Karyagin.

The project involves the reconstruction of a city block of mixed development of the 18th-19th centuries with an area of about 50 hectares, located between the railway station and the Western Dvina River. In addition to creating museum and art institutions for exhibitions and plein airs, the project provides for the creation of residential, commercial, and recreational areas, the construction of new and reconstruction of historical objects of various functional purposes. The authors of the project expect to recreate the historical environment of the late 19th - early 20th centuries, in which Marc Chagall and other famous artists of the Vitebsk Art School lived and worked.-0-
