Only today, for their happy lives, for the fact that they can live under a peaceful sky, raise children, and build their future in a sovereign country, they are grateful to those who defended the freedom and independence of the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War. In memory of those who laid down their lives on the altar of Victory, the participants of the celebration bowed their heads at the monument on the братская могила (fraternal grave) in the town square, laying fresh flowers on its memorial plaques.

And the holiday is gaining momentum. Numerous sites have spread out on both banks of the river. At a neighboring site, curious people got acquainted with the implementation of the republican youth patriotic projects "Letter to a Veteran", "Native-Folk", and learned to make boutonnieres on the theme of "Dazhynki". At several other sites, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) talked about the labor achievements of young people, conducted charity events, and promoted a healthy lifestyle. Employees of the internal affairs department, the "Okhana" Department, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted their activities.
Children and adults are crowding around the site where modern and retro agricultural machinery is displayed.
Everyone who was asked about their impressions of the changes in Sharkovshchina, about the holiday itself, spoke with enthusiasm about the scale of the event, noted the convenience of the sites, admired the deeds and talents of their fellow countrymen and the entire Vitebsk region. Everyone was left with an unforgettable impression by the sheaf of grain with wishes, and for the children – a combine harvester from which candies poured out instead of grain.
The city has truly become more beautiful, life has become more comfortable, and, it seems, all interlocutors spoke about this. They thanked everyone involved and praised their fellow countrymen, the grain growers. They almost unanimously agreed that there is no easy bread. That every year people have to work hard on the land to get a harvest. It is not for nothing that the level of people's well-being is determined by a loaf of bread. And it is good when it is substantial. This was discussed during the solemn part of the festival, symbolized by ears of grain.
- We are working in conditions of risky farming - we should not rely on or expect gifts from nature. This year's conditions have once again confirmed that the best result is achieved by those who more strictly follow the technology, widely use the achievements of agricultural science, apply high-yielding crop varieties, and work with high-performance machinery. Today, the priority is the sowing of winter grain crops for next year's harvest, fodder procurement continues, and corn harvesting is underway. The strategy suggests that the region's agrarians need to maximize the areas under winter grain and cruciferous crops to achieve higher development results.
There is no easy bread, and not only grain growers know this. Although the year was not easy, Vitebsk region met the holiday with dignity. This is confirmed by numerous awards to rural workers and warm words of gratitude for their work.
