Photo fact: Sergey Levkovich held a personal reception of citizens in Vitebsk
The appeals concerned issues of wage payment delays, capital repairs of residential buildings, roof condition, unsanitary conditions in residential premises, operation of an animal shelter, and other pressing problems.
In a conversation with journalists, Sergey Levkovich noted that many of the issues raised are traditional, especially in the housing and communal services sector. He emphasized that capital repairs of housing and courtyards, as well as property and land disputes, remain on the agenda.
– The housing stock in a number of districts, including Vitebsk, needs renovation, and there are plans for its repair, – he noted, adding that repair work is mainly financed by state funds, however, citizen contributions do not always cover the actual costs of housing and communal services enterprises.
Sergey Levkovich also pointed to the systemic nature of property disputes that periodically arise between citizens. He noted that not all aspects of these disputes are clearly defined in the legislation, and some issues require further study.
Among the discussed topics was the problem with the animal shelter. Sergey Levkovich stressed that the Vitebsk region treats stray animals humanely, and the authorities are doing everything possible to save them and find new owners. However, the shelter is overcrowded, which causes discomfort to residents of adjacent territories.
– We have agreed with the local leadership on the need to study the scale of the stray animal problem and find solutions to improve the conditions in the shelter, – he added.
Sergey Levkovich urged citizens to actively contact shelters and adopt animals, emphasizing that this is not only a noble deed but also an opportunity to find a loyal friend without unnecessary expenses.
