BelTA photo exhibition reflects the living history of Belarus – Nikolai Shersnev
The head of the region expressed his opinion about BELTA journalists. "What distinguishes these people? First of all, the efficiency of their work: any information is presented very quickly. Integrity. It is important today to present information quickly, but it must be done with integrity and professionalism. These qualities are inherent in BELTA employees, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with professionals in their field," said Nikolai Sherstnev.
The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee warmly congratulated the Belarusian Telegraph Agency on its anniversary and presented the General Director of BELTA, Irina Akulovich, with a letter of appreciation for her significant contribution to covering the socio-economic and socio-political life of the Vitebsk region.
According to Irina Akulovich, the photo exhibition's exposition is mainly formed from photographs of ordinary people: doctors, teachers, builders. "These are people who write the history of Belarus with their labor. I really want us to have health and good spirits, because we have to continue writing this history," said the General Director of BELTA.
Irina Akulovich also noted that BELTA's photo chronicle archives contain about 400 thousand photographs, including about 40 thousand negatives that have not yet been digitized. "These are shots that are incredibly interesting to look at, to see the emotions and feelings of people. And for this
BELTA's anniversary photo exhibition "Moments of Centuries" began its journey across Belarus on June 19. The exhibition reflects the main milestones in the country's history from 1918 to the present day. The shots, which capture a wide variety of events, form an amazingly vivid and expressive portrait of Belarus and Belarusians of the past century. The exhibition tells about the difficult fate of the country during the Great Patriotic War, the restoration of the republic from ruins, and events of international significance - visits by Cuban leader Fidel Castro and US President Richard M. Nixon. The photos present the main sports, cultural, and industrial facilities. And, of course, the focus of the exhibition is on Belarusians themselves: famous personalities and ordinary people, conscientious workers, and experts in their field.
In each of the cities, it is supplemented with unique archival shots from the region's history. In Vitebsk, there are 26 photo stands with over 50 pictures capturing interesting moments of the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival throughout its history. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to take a fresh look at their favorite artists: many of the stars were captured not only during their performances but also in informal settings - in the city, during conversations. The photo exhibition "Moments of Centuries" has already been held in Brest and Minsk. By the end of the year, it will be seen in all regional centers.
