FPB made a decision on insurance and financial support for medical workers

The FPR decided on insurance and financial support for medics. This concerns healthcare workers providing assistance to patients with coronavirus, the FPR press service informed BELTA.

"The President instructed the FPR to determine its role in the current situation and to consider how to support and assist the most vulnerable categories of medical workers, those on the front lines," said Mikhail Orda, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions. "It should be noted that trade unions began providing support to medical workers back in March, when the first cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the country. This includes assistance in purchasing disinfectants and sanitizers, personal protective equipment – from masks and gloves to protective medical suits."

According to the Chairman of the FPR, 14,000 such suits have already been purchased and are being distributed among the regions. The first batch has been sent to the Vitebsk Infectious Diseases Hospital.

"At the same time, it is now necessary to provide additional assistance to those who directly work with COVID-19 patients. Trade unions have decided to provide insurance and financial assistance to such medical workers. The President supported the initiative. This is solidarity assistance from all industry trade unions for those who are currently working on the front lines," concluded Mikhail Orda.
