Vitebsk University of Technology Gains French Partner
Vitebsk State Technological University continues to expand its circle of partners and the geography of scientific cooperation. This week, VSTU and the University of Upper Alsace signed a cooperation agreement.
According to the framework document, the educational institutions have expressed their readiness to implement joint events, participate in academic mobility programs, and international research projects. It is possible that the first joint actions will be precisely in the area of interpersonal contacts.
As reported to "Vitebskiye Vesti" by Professor of the University of Upper Alsace, President of the World Association of Textile Universities AUTEX, Dominique Adolphe, the French university is interested in promoting student exchanges, interaction at the level of teaching staff, and developing cooperation within various research projects, which in the future will help partners to create new technological solutions and products.
According to Dmitry Ryklin, Head of the Department of Textile Materials Technology at VSTU, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, the Vitebsk university is already ready to join the joint research work, in particular, within the framework of the European Union program "ERASMUS+". According to preliminary information, the project under development will be aimed at modernizing educational courses and the overall educational process in a number of areas, introducing innovations, and attracting students primarily to research activities.
– Today, new technologies and materials are emerging in the light industry, and specialists must understand how to work with them, design them, and what are the specifics of their production, – noted Dmitry Ryklin. – Therefore, we need to update the educational process, and we expect to solve these problems with the help of our French partners.
In addition, in the future, VSTU is working on the possibility of joining AUTEX, so these issues were also discussed during the conversation with Dominik Adolphi. The association brings together more than 30 universities from 28 countries. Recently, representatives of VSTU took part in the AUTEX conference in Bucharest, during which they discussed various issues with colleagues from different countries. It is precisely such an exchange of views that is a breeding ground for new ideas and the implementation of innovative solutions, is confident Dmitry Ryklin.
