BATE footballers lost to Naftan for the first time in the Belarusian Championship matches
November 4, Minsk /Igor Khadasevich – BELTA/. BATE Borisov footballers suffered their fourth defeat in the Belarusian championship matches, reports BELTA correspondent.
In the 30th round match, the championship leader unexpectedly lost to one of the outsiders, Naftan Novopolotsk, with a minimal score of 0:1 (Zyulev, 31). This is Naftan's first victory over the Borisov team in the national championship matches. Thanks to the win over the championship's main favorite, Igor Kovalevich's team moved off the last place in the standings.
Results of other Saturday matches:
FC Minsk - Belshina (Bobruisk) - 2:2 (Voytsekhovsky, 50, Razin, 52; Tolkanitsa, 33, Bulyga, 90+4, from penalty)
Slavia (Mozyr) - Neman (Grodno) - 0:1 (Savitsky, 53)
The central match of the round will take place today in Soligorsk, where two favorites will meet – local Shakhtyor and Dinamo Minsk (live broadcast on Belarus-2 TV channel at 15:55). This match will be particularly important for the guests, as they have already lost to the miners twice – in May at home (1:2) and in August away (0:1). In case of a victory, Shakhtyor footballers will almost certainly not give up second place in the standings until the end of the championship.
In the final game of Sunday, Gomel will host the Zhodino club Torpedo-BelAZ. The confrontation between these opponents is currently a tie – in the first round, Gomel won at home 2:0, and lost in Zhodino 0:1.
