Football players from Shakhtyor Soligorsk and Naftan Novopolotsk will play in the final of the Belarus Cup

Admission to the decisive cup match, which will start at 18:00, will be free, reports BELTA correspondent. For the "Shakhter" footballers, this will be their fourth final. Previously, they won the national Cup only once, defeating "Gomel" with a minimal score of 1-0 in 2004. And twice more the miners lost in the decisive matches – in 2006 to BATE Borisov – 1-3, and last year to MTZ-RIPO Minsk – 1-2. On their way to today's final, "Shakhter" successively defeated "Osipovichi", "Kommunalnik" (Slonim), "Granit" (Mikashevichi) and "Neman" (Grodno). "Naftan" from Novopolotsk reached the final for the first time in its history, so it will strive with all its might to win the Cup. This will give them the right to represent our country in the first draw of the Europa League, which will replace the UEFA Cup. In the preliminary stages of the current cup tournament, the Novopolotsk team defeated "Veras" from Nesvizh, "Lokomotiv" from Minsk, "Gomel" and BATE from Borisov. Both finalists played matches of the 10th round of the national championship on the eve of today's meeting. The Soligorsk club created a sensation by defeating the reigning champions of the country, BATE footballers, in Borisov – 3-2, while "Naftan" lost away to "Neman" from Grodno with a score of 0-2. -0-
