Football field and workout bars. A multifunctional sports ground has been opened in Yezeryshcha
The sports stadium in the urban-type settlement of Yezershche, Gorodok District, was planned to be opened for children by the new academic year, but prolonged rains prevented the plan from being realized, as equipment got stuck in the mud. Therefore, the opening of the facility was postponed. Representatives of the local authorities, public organizations, and schoolchildren participated in the opening ceremony.
— A comprehensive multifunctional playground with artificial turf is unique for our small settlements. Similar facilities are only available in the district center. It features not only a football field but also workout equipment and running tracks made of rubber crumb, — said the Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Petr Korobach.
— In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, a five-year program for the improvement of settlements in the Vitebsk region was developed. Yezershche was among the first to be included last year. The large-scale reconstruction affected literally every corner of the urban-type settlement. Improvement works are ongoing. In particular, a 12-apartment residential building will soon be constructed, and gas will be supplied, — informed the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev. — I hope the stadium will become a favorite recreation spot for the residents of Yezershche. All conditions have been created for new sports stars, including world-class ones, to emerge here.
Local children have already had a chance to appreciate the extensive possibilities of the sports ground. Some of them are seriously considering a professional sports career.
— Previously, the running tracks were laid with rubber squares, which increased the risk of injuries. Now, the surface allows training without fear and achieving high results, — assured fifth-grader Natalia.
The transformations were appreciated by a veteran of pedagogical work, former physical education teacher of the Yezershchenskaya school, Yevgeny Shchemilev. He emphasized that the invested funds will definitely pay off, and in the near future, new leaders of the Belarusian national team in various sports will surely appear here.
