Another village in the Vitebsk region has been gasified. Natural gas has been supplied to the homes of residents of the village of Sosnovka, Vitebsk district
A 7 km gas pipeline has provided natural gas to the homes of villagers who were previously supplied by a liquefied petroleum gas tank. The "blue fuel" will also be supplied to the Republican Tuberculosis Hospital and a recreation center.
– Sosnovka became the starting point of the social gas project. Usually, when supplying "blue fuel" to settlements, we ensure that it goes not only to homes but also to industrial and agricultural enterprises. Sosnovka is the first settlement where gas supply is exclusively social in nature – for the people. With gas available, people will build homes in the village, and new large and small production facilities will emerge, – is convinced the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev.
The introduction of gas to Sosnovka is a significant event not only for the residents of the village but also for the entire district, emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee, Gennady Sabinich:
– Gasification has allowed us to erase the line between city and village in terms of living comfort.
On behalf of the residents of Sosnovka, Anna Shneps thanked everyone involved in the implementation of this project:
– The residents of our village have been waiting for this momentous event for over ten years. We hope that gasification will contribute not only to comfortable living but also to the prosperity of our settlement.
Despite the fact that natural gas came to the Vitebsk region later than other regions, its flame now burns in every district.
– In the Vitebsk district, all points where it is possible to connect and supply gas to consumers of any level are now gasified. We will be supplying gas to two more settlements in the region in the near future; there are ten facilities under construction in the Vitebsk region. And we will definitely continue this work, – assured the Honored Power Engineer of Belarus, General Director of RUE "Vitebskoblgaz" Petr Shershen.
With the advent of natural gas, the attractiveness of the corresponding territory increases, and regions gain development prospects: the creation of new industries and new jobs.
– The construction of supply gas pipelines is being implemented within the framework of the State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment." To date, "Vitebskoblgaz" has built over 27 km of supply gas pipelines in the Vitebsk region. This allows for the use of blue fuel not only in cooking but also in heating, hot water supply, and in certain facilities of the real sector of the economy, – said the Minister of Energy of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich.
To make natural gas accessible to rural residents, for the construction of street distribution gas pipelines for consumer cooperativesstate support for gasification of up to 70% of the work cost is provided. Citizens can also take advantage of preferential loans issued by "Belarusbank" for a period of up to 2 years at 3% per annum.
