Heraldic symbols of the Vitebsk region - in a fashion collection

Students of the Vitebsk State Vocational and Technical College have managed to embody the heraldic symbols of the Dvina region in a fashion collection. The idea of creating such unusual and very patriotic outfits belongs to the director of the educational institution, Irina Kiseleva, and it was implemented by a creative team of teachers and students. To begin with, they had to study a lot of literature on heraldry. And then they got to work: the coat of arms drawings were done by Lyudmila Shilkо, the dress silhouettes were created by fashion designer-constructor Lyudmila Tikhonova, and the embroidery was done under the guidance of Olga Bashinskaya.

As a result, 22 models appeared: 21 cities led by "Vitebsk Region". Each dress is made in the color scheme of the symbolism of a particular settlement, with the image of the coat of arms and the embroidered name. The collection is crowned by a costume featuring the coat of arms of the Vitebsk Region, reflecting strength, honor, courage, and victory.

– We believe this is very important, as a great educational effort was carried out during the creation of the costumes. And the demonstration of the dresses has a patriotic effect on our models and spectators, – noted the artistic director of the fashion theater "Stil", Tatyana Ivanova.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The collection has already been seen not only by Vitebsk residents but also by residents of other cities in the Dvina region: the girls adorned the anniversary of Polotsk and the Day of Writing in Glubokoye. Unique outfits were also seen in the capital at the republican competition of decorative and applied arts for students and employees of vocational and secondary specialized education institutions "Belarusian Wreath". Needless to say, the idea and its implementation caused delight among the capital's spectators. Recently, the collection was also presented in Vitebsk at the regional exhibition "100 Ideas for Belarus".
