The head of the region met with the student activists of VSU named after P.M. Masherov

Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin met again with the youth of Vitebsk State University named after P. M. Masherov. The head of the region promised that such meetings would become regular and is keeping his promise.

Last time, they discussed what concerns young people, how they see the development of Vitebsk, and what they are ready to do to make their beloved city even more beautiful, comfortable, and convenient.

“A lot of interesting ideas were voiced then. It’s time to translate them into practice,” Alexander Subbotin noted, heading to the students. “We are betting on the energy of the youth and are ready to support any interesting projects.”

Young men and women readily responded to Alexander Mikhailovich’s proposal to communicate informally and immediately invited the head of the region to become part of the large and friendly team of Masherovites. They presented him with appropriate gear and a membership card. Now they are planning to gather for a tourist rally together. The only thing left is to choose a date. This was discussed last time as well. The Rector of VSU Valentina Bogatyreva noted that this would be a joint project for all universities in the region, so that students from Vitebsk region could meet, make friends, communicate more, and study the history of their native land together.

The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee was also invited to join the VSU project “We Remember. We are Proud.” Its idea is to perpetuate the memory of people who have had a positive impact on a specific person. For the rector, this is her grandfather Anatoly Bobkov – an example of a true man, a dedicated worker, a patriot. For someone else, such a life guide might be their first teacher, a lecturer, or a neighbor.

Third-year student Diana Golovach presented a virtual Museum of the Mother, created at the university. They also plan to open a similar platform here where works of art will be displayed. Alexander Subbotin noted that it would be great to organize offline locations for these projects as well.

Professor Alexander Kurdeko proposed to create a military-historical center "Partisan Camp" on the basis of "Shchitovka" for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the region and the republic from the Nazi invaders, which will introduce visitorslife conditions of partisans and soldiers during the war years.

No less relevant for the townspeople and guests of the city is the design concept for the development of the Soviet Army complex (Mazurino Park), presented by Lyubov Guseva, a 5th-year student of the Art and Graphics Faculty. Also, at the "round table," ideas for modernizing the Millennium Park and many others were voiced. It is gratifying that the idea to create a common online platform for the student community of the Vitebsk region, which was put forward at the last meeting, has already been implemented.

There is no doubt that the support of the regional leadership will inspire the youth, and they will embody their boldest ideas with their inherent enthusiasm and creativity.
