Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev congratulated Bishop Oleg Butkevich of the Vitebsk Diocese on Christmas
Bishop Oleg Butkevich, and in his person, all Christians of the Catholic confession of the Vitebsk region, were congratulated on the Nativity of Christ by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev. Presenting a bouquet of white roses, Vladimir Vladimirovich said:
- The most important thing is that we have full mutual understanding on all aspects of joint work with the Church, on social, educational, and youth programs.
Vladimir Terentyev also expressed confidence that the joint work will continue to be successful.
The meeting was also attended by Sergey Fadeyenkov, chief specialist of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the regional executive committee.
Bishop Oleg Butkevich thanked the guests for the congratulations on the bright holiday of Christmas.
The head of the Vitebsk Diocese noted that the outgoing year 2019 was a special year. "We were able to summarize some results and thank God for 20 years of existence of the Vitebsk Diocese," the bishop noted. - It was a time of renewal of the structures of the Catholic Church in the Vitebsk region, and parish communities.
Bishop Oleg Butkevich also noted that many initiatives and social projects of the Church, including during these Christmas days, find support in society.
