Chairman of the Regional Council Vladimir Terentyev on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol: “There is no such organization as the Komsomol, but it once raised a whole galaxy of statesmen”
Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies:
– An unforgettable, touching event. The most important thing about it is the participation of Komsomol veterans who dedicated many decades of their lives to the benefit of the country. We remembered our wonderful youth, and looked at it through the prism of what is happening today.
Yes, there is no such organization as the Komsomol, but once it united millions of young people and nurtured a whole galaxy of state and party leaders. Their experience, in turn, influenced the fate of modern youth and new leaders in our republic.
The leitmotif of the solemn assembly is that it is very important for the younger generation to learn from the example of Komsomol veterans who have lived a worthy life.
Valerian Matskevich, Chairman of the regional organization of veterans of the war in Afghanistan:
– The impressions are the most pleasant. The delegation from Vitebsk region consisted of people respected in the region, whose work began with the Komsomol, and the current activists of the regional organization of the BRSM.
The anniversary assembly emphasized the enduring significance of the Komsomol experience, on which the activities of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union are based today.
The concert program recalled the most important milestones in the history of the Komsomol, the heroism of its members during the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars, and the labor contribution of this public youth movement to the development of the country.
It was a joy to communicate with friends from my youth, who in the past were Komsomol workers in the army. I served in this capacity for six years and remember it with kind words.
