The head of the district assessed the results with which Dubrovno meets the regional "Dazhynki-2017"
— Oleg Mikhailovich, a lot of effort and resources have been invested in the renovation of Dubrovno. Are you satisfied with the work done?
– Absolutely. Considering that the district is small, and large-scale facilities have been built and modernized, this cannot but please. Today, we have reached the logical conclusion of our endeavors. Everything that has been done will serve to increase not only production volumes but also the standard of living as a whole.
The district has been transformed, and this is thanks to both the help and support of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, headed by Chairman Nikolai Sherstnev, and all the residents of Dubrovno. Together, we can achieve a lot. And we will not stop at what has been achieved. The improvement continues, we are doing everything possible to make the district flourish and for people to live comfortably in it.
– The end of the harvesting campaign is rightly considered the crown of peasant labor. What was the overall regional harvest like this year?
— The agricultural sector is a special sphere of activity, and the harvest holds a crucial place in it. It is the result of the labor of many people, and the food security of the country depends on what the overall harvest will be. The agrarians of Dubrovno once again demonstrated professionalism, persistence in achieving set goals, and proved their loyalty to their profession and love for their native land.
The result exceeded expectations – 94 thousand tons of grain, which amounted to 147% of last year's level. If we talk about plans and tasks, we have fulfilled them in full. The yield of grain and leguminous crops is 44.1 centners per hectare, and rapeseed oilseeds – 19.7 centners per hectare. The total production volume of rapeseed oilseeds amounted to 9.6 thousand tons in bunker weight. This is 2 times more than in 2016.
Thanks to the clear actions of farm managers, specialists, foremen, and rank-and-file workers, the harvesting campaign was organized and coordinated. The task facing the workers of Dubrovensky district was not easy, but they completed it excellently.
We began preparations for the current season back in 2016 – we developed an action plan and a structure for sown areas, which allowed us to complete all work not only within optimal deadlines but also with maximum efficiency. The structure of agricultural areas was adjusted under the control of the head of the region. It envisages maximum results in all areas.
A full range of technological and organizational measures was carried out for the current year's harvest. A high agro-technical level was ensured at all stages of spring field work and the harvesting campaign. Last autumn, the soil was prepared in a timely manner, and winter sowing was carried out within optimal deadlines. In the spring, spring crops were sown qualitatively, mineral fertilizers were applied, and crops were treated and protected. Necessary equipment was prepared in advance – there were no downtimes.

Mutual assistance was an important aspect of the harvest season. Farms that completed harvesting earlier sent their equipment to help those who still had unthreshed grain. This contributed to maintaining high harvesting rates and completing it within tight deadlines.
As a result, the district consistently held a leading position in the region. This year has shown that all farms without exception can and must work at a high level. Such agricultural enterprises as OJSC "Pravda-S", OJSC "Yakubovo-Agro", OJSC "Bobrovo-Agro", OJSC "Gigant-Agro", etc., achieved worthy results. The agricultural year is not yet over – winter sowing and flax straw harvesting are in full swing.
– What is being done in the district to preserve human resources?
– Without professionals, it is impossible to achieve results in work. Both moral and material components are important in staff retention. The salary level is a stimulus for fruitful work. And we must do everything possible to ensure its growth. In our region, in the agro-industrial complex sector, it is almost 600 rubles.
I would like to note that 1670 people are employed in agricultural production on 64 thousand hectares of agricultural land. Those who worked during the harvest can, without exaggeration, be called the golden fund of the agricultural sector of Dubrovenshchina. It is gratifying that the number of combine operators and drivers who threshed and transported more than a thousand tons of grain is constantly increasing in the region. There are about 60 crews of them now.
– What tasks are you setting with a view to the 2018 harvest?
– The district's potential has not been exhausted, technological issues still need to be worked out. Technical re-equipment is also under constant control.
We will approach not only the repair but also the selection of technical means more thoroughly. Thanks to the support of the regional executive committee leadership, the district's vehicle fleet is constantly being updated. We receive high-performance, energy-intensive machines and units that allow all work to be carried out in more optimal terms.
— Oleg Mikhailovich, what would you like to wish our best grain growers and guests of the region?
