In 2010, the Glubokoye Feed Mill will master the production of extruded concentrate from flaxseed

January 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In 2010, OJSC "Gluboksky Feed Mill" will master the production of highly nutritious extruded food concentrate (EFC) based on flaxseed. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the chief engineer of the enterprise, Alexander Kharevich. The product, developed by specialists of the Vitebsk Zonal Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in cooperation with the Osipovichi Bakery (Mogilev region), can be used as a vitamin supplement in confectionery and bakery products, as well as in the production of whole milk substitutes and animal feed. Due to the high content of alpha-linolenic acid, vitamin F, and other beneficial substances, it will contribute to better absorption of vegetable fats and animal growth. For the production of EFC, the plant has already purchased special equipment worth over Br470 million. Currently, its installation is underway, and measures are being taken to modernize the enterprise related to the development of a new type of product. It is planned to start production in the second half of 2010 - early 2011. The initial batch of the product will be 20 tons. In subsequent years, the production volume will be increased (2012 - 60 tons, 2013 - 180 tons). It is planned that the extruded food concentrate will primarily be distributed in farms of the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions. It will replace an imported analogue, the cost of which is 1.5 times higher than the domestic development. In addition, in 2010, the Glubokskoye enterprise plans to build a mini-plant for processing rapeseed with a capacity of 20 thousand tons of products per year. The business plan and technical documentation for this project are currently under development, noted Alexander Kharevich. In 2009, the plant produced products worth Br24 billion, which is 15.1% higher than the previous year. The profitability of sales for January-November was 4.2%. The energy saving indicator for last year, with a target of minus 11%, was minus 17.9%. Investments in fixed assets reached Br3.8 billion. Gluboksky Feed Mill was founded in 1974 and was corporatized in December 2009. It has a production unit for poultry products in Polotsk. It specializes in the production of compound feeds (56 thousand tons per year) and pearl barley (300 tons), as well as poultry products. The average number of employees, including the Polotsk unit, is over 370 people. -0-
