The Gluboksky cannery has started sowing peas
April 19, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. OJSC "Glubokoye Cannery" has started sowing peas. About 70 hectares have already been sown with this vegetable crop, the enterprise's director Leonid Barilo told a BELTA correspondent.
In total, this year the enterprise plans to sow processing peas on an area of 607 hectares, with another approximately 100 hectares allocated for seeds. Preparatory work was carried out taking into account last year's experience, when a good harvest of this vegetable crop was grown, but losses could not be avoided due to unfavorable weather conditions. The enterprise is fully supplied with fertilizers, and high-quality pre-sowing soil treatment and the availability of elite seed stock allow us to count on a good pea harvest this year as well, Leonid Barilo noted. In total, the enterprise plans to harvest about 1.5 thousand tons of this vegetable crop.
In addition, preparatory work for sowing carrots, cabbage, beets, and zucchini, for which about 60 hectares are allocated in total, is currently being completed.
The enterprise also plans to harvest 450 tons of birch sap, of which almost 98% has already been received and sent for processing. This year, in addition to bottling juice in glass containers, the plant plans to release birch sap in Tetra Pak packaging for the first time on a line installed two years ago. In total, it is planned to produce about 100 thousand Tetra Pak cartons of birch sap.
Glubokoye Cannery was established in 1948, and the joint-stock company transformation of the unitary enterprise was carried out in 2003. The plant specializes in the production of fruit and vegetable products, canned peas, juices, and concentrates.-0-
