Glubokoye cannery plans to modernize production in 2010-2011

December 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. OJSC "Gluboksky Cannery" plans to modernize production in 2010-2011, the chief engineer of the enterprise Alexander Grishkevich told a BELTA correspondent. In accordance with the developed business plan, in 2010 it is planned to reconstruct a free workshop of the plant with an area of 1 thousand sq.m for canning production and to purchase technological equipment. In particular, it is necessary to purchase a line with a capacity of 2.5-3 tons of products per hour for the production of jams, sauces, ketchups, pureed preserves, juices with pulp, as well as a special unit that will allow packaging products in doypack pouches. The currently operating canning workshop with an area of 3 thousand sq.m will be converted into warehouse premises. "This will allow the enterprise to use its areas more efficiently, abandon the rental of warehouses, significantly reduce transportation costs and, as a result, reduce overall production costs," noted Alexander Grishkevich. It is planned to complete all work in 2011. The cost of the project is about Br13 billion, including over Br2 billion for design and construction and installation work, and about Br11 billion for equipment. It is planned to attract bank loans, funds from regional and republican budgets, and own investments for the implementation of the project. For January-November, the plant produced products worth Br9.2 billion. Based on the results of 11 months, the output of new types of products in the total production volume was about 25%. The main part of the products is sold in Belarus. About 10% is exported to Russia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, mainly consisting of ready-to-eat products, green peas and juices. The enterprise was founded in 1946 and transformed into an OJSC in 2002. It specializes in the production of fruit and vegetable products, ready-to-eat canned goods, juices, and concentrates. The range of products includes about 100 items. The plant's production capacity is about 32 million conventional cans per year. -0-
