Glubokoye Meat Processing Plant presented three projects worth Br31 billion at the investment forum in Vitebsk.

OJSC "Glubokoye Meat Processing Plant" presented three projects with a total cost of Br31 billion at the international investment forum in Vitebsk, the deputy director of the enterprise, Elena Efimova, told a BELTA correspondent. The most large-scale of the presented investment proposals is the project for the reconstruction of the meat processing workshop with the required investment volume of Br17 billion. It is aimed at expanding production areas and capacities for the production of sausages and semi-finished products, increasing the range and improving the quality of manufactured meat products in accordance with the requirements of the European Union and Russia. The project for the modernization of the primary livestock processing workshop pursues the same goals, according to which it is planned to purchase new technological lines for slaughtering cattle and pigs. The required investment volume is about Br10 billion. Another significant investment project for the enterprise is the large-scale reconstruction of treatment facilities in order to organize wastewater treatment to the level of discharge into a water body. The capacity of the treatment facilities will be 1 thousand cubic meters per day. Design and estimate documentation is being developed. The cost of the project is Br4 billion. In 2009, the enterprise produced products worth Br11.8 billion, which is 15.7% higher than the previous year. The energy saving indicator was minus 14.5%. The profitability of sales was 3.2%. Products worth $2.7 million were exported, or 176% compared to 2008. The significant growth is due to increased supplies to Russia, which receives 30% of the meat. Hides and skins are supplied to Italy, Great Britain, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Scotland, and Moldova. Investments in fixed assets in 2009 amounted to Br4.4 billion. Glubokoye Meat Processing Plant was founded in 1936, and was incorporated in 1997. It specializes in the production of sausages, dry-cured products, and meat. The range includes about 250 items.
