The Glubokoye Dairy and Canning Plant will launch a new condensed milk packaging line in August

August 4, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Glubokoye Dairy and Canning Plant OJSC plans to launch a new line for packaging condensed milk in metal cans in August, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent.

Italian equipment worth over 2 million euros has been installed in the reconstructed canning workshop and partly in the finished goods warehouse. Its capacity allows for the production of up to 400 cans per minute. Currently, the installation and commissioning of the line by Italian specialists, as well as the training of operating personnel, are underway at the enterprise. The launch is scheduled for the end of this month.

The use of the new line makes it possible to virtually eliminate manual labor in certain areas. For example, the options include processing finished cans, installing easy-open lids, packaging products in shrink wrap, and other functions, specialists explained.

By the end of the year, the plant plans to complete the installation of another line for packaging sterilized milk in Tetra-Pak cartons with a capacity of 7 thousand packages per hour and a cost of over Br8 billion. The implementation of projects for the modernization of tin can production (a tender for equipment supply has been held) and the organization of cheese production at the Braslav branch (project expertise is being completed, funding sources are being established) continues.

In the first half of the year, the enterprise produced products worth Br153 billion, or 144.8% compared to the same period in 2010. Sales profitability reached 13.4%. Exports in January-June increased by 11.4% to $20.2 million. Their share in the total sales volume was 47.5%. Supplies were made to Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Armenia.

The enterprise was founded in 1966. It includes the Braslav Production Branch and the Mnyuto agricultural enterprise. The plant produces canned milk, butter, dry milk, whole milk products, casein, and hard rennet cheeses. The range of products manufactured includes over 120 items. The number of employees is 1.1 thousand people.-0-
