Glubokoye Dairy and Canning Plant reduced its inventory by 27% in August-September
October 1, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Open Joint Stock Company "Glubokoye Dairy and Canned Goods Plant" reduced its warehouse stocks by 27% to Br26.1 billion in August-September, Deputy General Director for Economics Olga Kulakovskaya told a BELTA correspondent.
According to her, in previous years, the plant exported about 60% of its products to the Russian Federation. The "milk conflict" demonstrated the problems that can arise for a manufacturer tied to a single sales market. "It was difficult to solve all the problems overnight: it took time to find new partners and consumers, and to master new sales markets," the interlocutor emphasized. She noted that for the first time this year, the enterprise supplied dry milk to Africa. Large carload lots of canned milk were sent to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan. Closer work was also carried out in the domestic market.
"Due to all the measures taken, by November 1, the plant plans to reach the standard level of finished goods inventory - 50% of the monthly production volume," Olga Kulakovskaya added.
In January-September, the enterprise produced products worth Br131.5 billion, which is 2.9% higher than the same period in 2008. Exports for eight months amounted to $17.2 million. In addition to Russia and newly mastered countries, products were also supplied to Kazakhstan, Poland, and Germany. Investments in fixed assets reached Br3.4 billion. One of the largest projects this year was the reconstruction of the plant's refrigeration system and the commissioning of the first phase of a dairy farm for 730 heads at the subsidiary agricultural branch "Mnyuto".
The enterprise was founded in 1972. It specializes in the production of canned milk, butter, dry milk, whole milk products, casein, and hard rennet cheeses. The total number of employees is over 1,000 people. -0-
