The Glubokoye district of the Vitebsk region and the French district of Fer intend to expand interregional cooperation
May 12, Minsk /Ekaterina Nechaeva - BELTA/. The Glubokoye district of the Vitebsk region and the French district of Ferres intend to expand and strengthen interregional cooperation. To this end, a delegation from the French town of Ferres, led by Jean-Claude Frécon, a member of the Senate of the French Republic, has arrived in Belarus. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
"The visit of the delegation, which is visiting our country from May 12 to 18, is aimed at developing and improving relations both at the regional level - the Glubokoye district and the Ferres district - and at the country level - Belarus and France," the House of Representatives noted. The program for the French delegation's stay in Belarus includes a meeting on May 13 with deputies of the House of Representatives, members of the working group of the National Assembly of Belarus for cooperation with the Parliament of France.
Cooperation between the two twin cities - Glubokoye and Ferres - has been dynamic and consistent in recent years, which gives both sides reason to expect the continuation and expansion of interregional ties. The immediate plans of the twin cities include internships for managers of agricultural enterprises and machine operators from the Glubokoye district at farms in the Ferres district. It is also planned to send students from the Glubokoye State Vocational Lyceum to this French town for internships at an agricultural college and, accordingly, to host French student interns in Belarus. In the future, it is planned to organize twin city days, exhibitions, performances by amateur artists and athletes, and youth exchange programs.
Close interaction between the Belarusian and French regions began in 2005, when a mission of doctors from France visited Glubokoye and delivered humanitarian aid to medical institutions in the Glubokoye district. Since then, there have been exchanges of delegations of heads of administrative districts, medical professionals, and educators. Students from the Glubokoye State Vocational Lyceum have undergone internships in France, representatives of enterprises and institutions have visited French enterprises, including the humanitarian mission center for doctors, the largest center for breeding young cattle, and have held a series of meetings with the mayor's office of Ferres, the management of medical institutions, the agricultural college, and farms. -0-
