"City of Masters" during the "Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk
As reported by the Vitebsk Regional Methodological Center for Folk Art, the craft fair "City of Masters" - a traditional project during the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" - will now bring together at least 200 folk craftsmen from Belarus (including all regions of the Vitebsk Oblast), Russia, Ukraine, and Latvia.
This folk crafts exhibition will be open on Pushkin Street from July 9 to 13. As part of the "City of Masters," an open regional competition for craftsmen in doll and toy making, "Zabava-2015," will take place on July 11-12. The events of this spectacular and engaging competition will be held at the Vitebsk Regional Methodological Center for Folk Art, in the Town Hall, and in the courtyard of the Regional Museum of Local Lore. Nativity scene performances will also take place here – folk puppet theaters of the Vitebsk Oblast will perform on July 9, 10, and 13 as part of the street art festival "On Seven Winds."
For the first time, a creative presentation of the brands of the Pridvinye regions will be held in the festival capital.
"Multicoloured Vitebsk Region". Guests and townspeople will be able to watch this performance on Freedom Square for several days, from July 9 to 13. It will be opened by the first regional festival "Rushnik as Destiny", which will allow you to touch the origins of folk tradition, learn and appreciate the richness and diversity of rushnyks of the Vitebsk region.Other significant folk culture festivals will also take place during the festival.
