Gorodok and Polotsk trade union associations recognized as the best in the region

The Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association has concluded the first review competition for the best district and city trade union associations.

A commission headed by the Chairman of the VRTA, Ivan Vozmitel, evaluated the results of the activities of 23 associations for 2016 in the following areas: creation of primary organizations, collective bargaining regulation, interaction with local executive and administrative bodies, legal consultations for citizens, labor protection, cultural and mass events, and sports and recreation events, etc.

As a result, as reported by Irina Davydovskaya, Head of the Organizational Department of the VRTA, the best associations recognized were the Gorodok District Trade Union Association (comprising 64 primary organizations, chaired by Irina Doroshchenko) and the Polotsk Association (230 primary organizations) headed by Svetlana Yanichek, a delegate to the 5th All-Belarusian People's Congress. In these districts, the structure of social partnership is well-established, and local trilateral agreements between district executive committees, trade union associations, and employers most closely comply with the norms of the General and Regional Agreements.

Monitoring of labor remuneration, employment, and social guarantees in organizations of the regions is underway. Over the past year, 5 primary organizations were established in the Gorodok region, and 12 in the Polotsk region. Youth councils are actively functioning in both district trade union associations. Great attention is paid to recreation and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. An example of this is the participation in the regional stage of the "New Names of Belarus" competition and the Trade Union Culture Week.
