Vitebsk city beaches will be tidied up by June 1

Today, one of the pressing issues that the country is paying close attention to is the restoration of order on the land, the proper maintenance of industrial sites, agricultural facilities, settlements, roadside strips, forests, waste disposal sites, and recreation areas.

A correspondent of "VV" together with the head of the Vitebsk City Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Valery Fando, went on a raid of mass recreation areas on water bodies and horticultural associations in the regional center and its surroundings. These places were inspected in early April by the inspectorate together with the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, by the decision of which, on April 13, 2015, a plan of measures was approved for the preparation of mass recreation areas in the city for the season. During this time, some facilities have already been put in order, while work is in full swing at others.

There are seven recreation areas in Vitebsk with beaches, each assigned to specific enterprises and organizations that must put them in order by June 1: remove last year's leaves, garbage, and also, where necessary, repair, paint, or install benches, toilets, urns, and garbage containers.

The City Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection also maintains constant control over the restoration of order in 103 horticultural associations in Vitebsk, where 79 monitoring surveys have been conducted since the beginning of the year. First of all, according to Valery Fando, the timely cleaning of temporary storage sites is checked. For this purpose, a waste collection scheme has been developed with each horticultural association, and specialists from "Spetsavtobaza Vitebsk" remove garbage according to the schedule. In spring, when the owners of garden plots carry out mass cleaning, waste removal has to be done more often, but all issues are solvable, noted Valery Eduardovich.
