State order for grain supplies increased for Vitebsk region by more than 20% to 186 thousand tons
July 21, Vitebsk / Sergei Kotovetov - BELTA /. The state order for grain supplies has been increased for the Vitebsk region in 2011 by more than 20% to 186 thousand tons, Alina Mironovich, head of the department for processing industry, procurement and product quality of the committee for agriculture and food of the regional executive committee, told a BELTA correspondent.
From the total volume of the state order for grain, the region's farms are to supply about 135 thousand tons to the grain processing plants, including 70 thousand tons of food wheat, or 40% more than the state order for 2010, and 50 thousand tons of food rye. Also, 21 thousand tons of grain will be supplied to procurement organizations for alcohol production. The region has organized round-the-clock operation of mechanized grain receiving points on farms, and the reception points of grain processing plants are ready to accept grain of the new harvest continuously throughout the day. More than 50 inter-farm points have been created in the districts for processing and drying grain and rapeseed. Quality analysis of incoming raw materials is carried out at all reception points of grain processing plants.
According to operational data, over 2 thousand tons of grain of the new harvest have been received by the region's procurement organizations within the state order. Farms in five districts have begun supplying raw materials for the state order, with farmers in Chashniksky and Gluboksky districts being the most active.
The volume of rapeseed supplies under the state order has been increased for the Vitebsk region by a third to 80 thousand tons. Rapeseed procurement in the region is carried out by OJSC "Vitebsk Oil Extraction Plant", which is to procure about 60 thousand tons of rapeseed, and OJSC "Gluboksky Feed Mill" (20 thousand tons). Farms are forced to process the harvest of this crop to supply procurement organizations with high-quality raw materials of at least the first class, which is used for food purposes.
According to data as of July 21, over 1 thousand tons of rapeseed have been delivered within the state order. In general, across the region, this crop has been harvested from an area of about 4.5 thousand hectares, which is 25% of the plan, with almost 5.7 thousand tons threshed at an average yield of 12.7 centners per hectare.-0-
